The older greeke polis were the stage of the greece culture.They were elevated ,they were refugees by the walls.The house they piled up they formed narrow and irregular streets.

The reconstruction of the city of Atenas after was destroyed by Jerjes in 480 a.c, framework a milestone in the urban conception. The oldest and tallest part, the acropolis, was dedicated to gods concentrating in her the temples. The life of the city was transfer to the bottom, more comfortable.

Principal buildings
The life of the older greek was on the street so there were plenty of places to meet in the city, public space as:
  • The agora: public square and neuralgic center of the city, in her they were the most important public buildings and the temples.
  • Stoa: arcaded corridors located on the sides of the square to protect from sun and rain. They used to be decorated with paintings to make the walk more pleasant.
  • The buleuterios and eclesiasterios: space for the politic discussion.
  • The theater: Raised taking advantage the hillside of the hill to facilitate the construction of the Graderíoy improve the acoustics.
  • They had a stage where the work was developed and, on the back side, it had wooden decorations. There was a space for the chorus (very important in the Greek dramas as it challenged the actors and the public).
  • Gymnasium, Arena and stadium: for sports competitions and trainings.
  • Temples: They were located in special areas (acropolis), usually in the upper parts of the cities.


The greek polis was extended for the Mediterranean with the colonization, adapting to the Orthographic diversity of each place. The change of the Model occurred during the Hellenism. The new cities founded by Alexander and his successors applied the ideas of Hipodamo of Miletus (498-408 BC) who, after the destruction of his city by the Persians projected a plane of straight streets, orthogonal or "checkerboard".

The harbour was located far from the city. The ships carry and unload their goods.

Public square where in a prinsipio, markets are held and where citizens, (sempre hombres since respectable women never appeared in public) meet to discuss the issues of the community

It is the term used by the ancient Greeks to designate the part of the city (polis) where the civic crops are grouped and the political instances


Theatre


Born in the Atica from the dances and choral chants of the 6TH and 5th centuries BC, held in spring during the celebrations of honor of the god Dionysus. All the great Greek theatres were built in the open sky.


As would be a Greek cops today
A greek polis in the actuality will be to many modern and theirs buildings will be to many diferent. There would be fields around and the people won´t work in the agriculture and the trade. Their customs wouldn't be the same and the olympic games would be very different.
